How To Read Construction Blueprints

Construction blueprints are the foundation of each project. They specify project objectives, functionality, and how the project requirements are met. Construction workers use these blueprints to plan the right decisions for questions that are presented to them. Blueprint plans can include floor plan drawings, roof plan drawings, structural drawings, plumbing drawings, and electrical drawings. Each plan is interpreted and put together during the building process.

When the blueprint is drawn to scale it will also include the gutters, windows, downspouts, doors, and rooflines of the building. There are also sections in the blueprint that show dimensions and connections from the floor to the foundation. It is important when reading blueprints that you understand the symbols that are used for each plan. Usually, there is a key provided that can be used for reference. Blueprints are essential for the completion of any project, keeping everyone on time.
